Chef and charcuterie whizz Neil Jewell, together with his wife Tina Jewell, at the helm of this farm-to-table eatery at Spice Route Destination. The open-kitchen restaurant has comfortable yet sophisticated-country style indoor seating as well as outdoor seating with picturesque views of the Simonsberg Mountains and Table Mountain. As you would expect, only the best-quality ingredients are used in the dishes, including organic Red Angus beef from Charles Backs herd, with a regularly updated seasonal menu.

    It was the last gasp of summer - 38 degrees. We sat outside on the terrace looking over the browning landscape towards the mountains, drinking a pink gin sling (gin from the on-site distillery) and a beer from the on-site brewery. The charcuterie plate was a perfect choice for such a hot day, together with the bread board and its interesting spreads. I had a grilled vegetable salad - listed as a light dish but I couldn’t finish it, there was so much. Sublime pannacotta with fruit preserves ended the delicious meal. The service is relaxed but attentive. I highly recommend this as a lunch venue.

    Perfect lunch. My wife is still raving about her aubergine starter. My pork chop was massive and perfect. Great waiter.
