Chef and charcuterie whizz Neil Jewell, together with his wife Tina Jewell, at the helm of this farm-to-table eatery at Spice Route Destination. The open-kitchen restaurant has comfortable yet sophisticated-country style indoor seating as well as outdoor seating with picturesque views of the Simonsberg Mountains and Table Mountain. As you would expect, only the best-quality ingredients are used in the dishes, including organic Red Angus beef from Charles Backs herd, with a regularly updated seasonal menu.

    We had a truly excellent meal - all the food was perfectly cooked and the combinations worked very well. As always we thoroughly enjoyed eating Neil Jewell's food. The twice baked cheese soufflé was a standout version of a very difficult dish to get right but Neil demonstrated the skill to produce a perfectly light and properly cheesy tasting soufflé. This was the first time I had come across Sarladalise potatoes (served alongside the excellent rump). The texture and flavour were superb so much so that I shall now have to try to see if I can manage to re-create a version myself at home.
