by | 29 May 2025

Reach For A Dream has announced the return of its much-loved Night of Dreams Gala Dinner, taking place on Saturday, 26 July 2025, at the iconic Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town.

For 36 years, the Reach For A Dream Foundation has been making dreams come true for children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses like leukaemia, cancer, and organ failure – helping them keep believing, even when things feel uncertain.

In 2025, they’ve partnered with Dineplan as the official booking platform for the gala, making it easy for guests to reserve their tables for what promises to be an unforgettable night of meaning and magic.

The Night of Dreams Gala Dinner is one of Reach For A Dream’s biggest fundraising events of the year, with each ticket directly supporting dream experiences for children across South Africa.

The Night of Dreams Gala Dinner serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collective action. It is a time to unite in hope and honour the bravery of children facing profound medical challenges. Because dreams matter, especially when they bring light into a child’s darkest days.

This elegant evening brings together kind-hearted individuals, corporate partners, and community leaders to honour courage, inspire hope, and support dreams that truly matter.

About Reach For A Dream

Reach For A Dream is a South African non-profit organisation that has, since 1988, dedicated itself to fulfilling the dreams of children aged 3 to 18 who are battling life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, kidney failure, and heart conditions.

When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, their daily life often becomes dominated by medical appointments, treatments, and uncertainty. Reach For A Dream intervenes to bring hope, joy, and light into their lives by making their biggest dreams come true. Whether it is meeting a hero, flying in a helicopter, receiving a room makeover, being gifted a gaming console, or becoming a firefighter for a day – the Foundation makes it happen.

Ongoing Projects and Programmes

Dream Rooms
These are safe, inspiring spaces within hospitals where children can temporarily escape the clinical environment and immerse themselves in joy, comfort, and creativity.

Laughter Hero Programme
This initiative places trained performers – including clowns, actors, and entertainers – into hospitals and Dream Rooms where seriously ill children are receiving treatment. These “heroes” carry bubbles, puppets, jokes, music, and warmth, with a mission to uplift and entertain, helping children forget their pain, even if only for a short while.

Dream Club Days
These are group events filled with adventure, aimed at fostering courage, connection, and fun among children facing similar health battles.

Slipper Day
A national fundraising initiative that encourages members of the public to wear slippers to work or school as a show of support, turning a simple act into a movement for meaningful change.

The Night of Dreams Gala Dinner is a powerful reflection of Reach For A Dream’s mission to bring hope and joy to children facing life-threatening illnesses. By attending, guests directly support the creation of meaningful moments for these brave young dreamers. Together, every contribution helps turn dreams into lasting memories – and shows each child they are not alone.
