Taste Stellenbosch 2026

A season of dining experiences across South Africa's food and wine capital this August and September – chef collaborations, seasonal menus, wine pairings, and a guided walking safari through three restaurants in one night.

This August and September, Stellenbosch is setting the table with dining experiences that celebrate the people, flavours and creativity behind South Africa’s best food and wine destination.

From intimate chef collaborations and seasonal menus to unforgettable wine pairings and long lunches that stretch into the afternoon, every table offers something new to discover. And one experience gets you three of them in a single evening.

––– The main event

The Stellenbosch Restaurant Safari

A guided culinary evening for a small group. You gather at a central meeting point, and your guide leads the way from venue to venue – three of the town’s most celebrated restaurants, three courses, one unhurried night on foot.

Each route is curated to offer a variety of settings, cuisines and atmospheres, giving guests a true taste of what Stellenbosch’s food and wine scene has to offer. Three routes are available, each with its own character and restaurant lineup. Whether you’re a local seeing familiar favourites from a fresh angle, or a visitor here for the first time, the safari is built to be social, unhurried and memorable.

Stop 1

Starters

Meet your group and guide, walk to your first stop and settle in with your first course.

Stop 2

Mains

A short walk through town to a completely different kitchen, table and atmosphere for the main course.

Stop 3

Dessert

Move once more to end the evening on something sweet – and a third restaurant to add to your list.

––– Choose your night

Three routes, nine nights

Every night the running order changes, so the restaurant that hosts your starter one evening serves your dessert the next. Group sizes are deliberately small, so be sure to secure your spot by booking on Dineplan in advance – no walk-ins accepted.
